Williamston firefighters let an unoccupied home that caught fire Wednesday burn itself out.
The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. In the 300 block of South Watts Street.
Williamston Fire Chief James Peele says the home had been vacant for quite some time and it's unclear whether the home had electricity running to it.
Chief Peele says they are investigating whether foul play is involved.
The chief says small children were seen playing in the home before the fire broke out.
