A local grain producer is out $12,000 worth of crop according to Martin County firefighters, though damages could have been a lot worse.
Williamston Fire Department Captain Kenny Warren told WITN crews were called to 1188 Cargill Road around 8:10 Sunday night.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire burning from a grain dryer.
While nearly $12,000 of the crop was lost and the equipment damaged, no one was hurt.
Crews are still trying to figure out how the fire started.
