Funerals for a high school senior and his brother who were killed while on their way to graduation have been set.
Deonta Whitaker and his 24-year-old brother, Anthony, were killed Saturday on Republican Road. Troopers say the older brother was driving the car and that excessive speed was a factor.
The funerals will be held this coming Saturday at Bertie High School, the same high school where the two were headed this past weekend. The service begins at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation for the brothers will be Friday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hunter's Funeral Home in Ahoskie.
