Hundreds of people were in the dark Wednesday night as storms rolled over the east.
Customers with Dominion Power said trees and power lines were down along the outer banks, and the company said some of the outages were in fact weather related.
By 6:10 Thursday morning, Dominion Power's website showed 188 outages in Hertford County.
At the same time Thursday morning, 501 Dominion customers in Bertie County were in the dark.
Nearly 400 Dominion Power customers were without power after storms moved through Wednesday night. Customers tell WITN trees and power lines were down on the outer banks. Dominion confirms the outages were weather related.
As of 10:36 p.m. Dominion Power's website said 301 customers were without power in North Carolina. Most of the outages were in Hertford County with 252 customers without lights and air conditioning.
By 11:30 power had been restored to most customers with about 70 still without power.
