State Corrections Officer Resigns After Drug Charge

A state corrections officer has resigned after being charged with bringing marijuana into the prison.

Clinton Brown was arrested Saturday by Windsor police for felony possession with intent to sell deliver marijuana and felony possession of controlled substance in prison/jail premises.

Brown was a corrections officer at the Bertie Correctional Institution. Windsor police say marijuana was found on him during a search at the start of his shift. He had worked for the state for just over two months.

Brown's bond was set at $20,000.
