Deputies on Friday released surveillance video showing two gunmen opening fire inside an Eastern Carolina convenience store.
It happened at the Fida Mart on Highway 125 and Glasgow Street in the Martin County town of Hamiliton.
Martin County Sheriff's Lt. Drew Robinson says two men with handguns came into the Fida Mart at 12:45 p.m. Thursday and just started firing for some five second straight before running off. Robinson says no one was hit during the shooting.
Robinson says one of the men had two handguns, while the other was armed with one gun. He says they're treating this as an attempted murder, and not robbery, since the gunmen immediately started shooting and no money was taken.
Fortunately, no was hit by the gunfire.
Witnesses told deputies the men took off in a burgundy Grand Marquis or Mercury Crown Vic. Deputies released a surveillance picture of that vehicle in the store's parking lot.
The video shows the burgundy vehicle pulling up to the store and the two gunmen going inside. They fire several shots and seconds later run back outside.
Lt. Robinson asks anyone with information to please give them or Crimestoppers a call.
