A man wanted for a shooting last month is behind bars, just one day after deputies announce he was a wanted man.
Records show Shelton Staton, Jr. of Robersonville behind bars in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail on Friday morning.
The 20 year old was wanted for the December 21 shooting on U.S. 64-A outside of Robersonville. Investigators say 30-year-old Jihbram Rubio was shot. He was first taken to Martin General Hospital and then transferred to Vidant Medical Center.
Court records show Staton due in court on Monday.
Deputies are looking for a man wanted for a shooting that happened last month.
Martin County deputies say they have warrants charging Shelton Staton, Jr. Of Robersonville with attempted first degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The shooting happened the Saturday before Christmas on U.S. 64-A outside of Robersonville. Investigators say 30-year-old Jihbram Rubio was shot. He was first taken to Martin General Hospital and then transferred to Vidant Medical Center.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office says a man shot over the weekend is in critical condition.
Martin County Sheriff Dan Gibbs says that the shooting happened right around 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Sheriff Gibbs says that it happened just outside of Robersonville on U.S. 64 Alternate near Nelson Street.
Sheriff Gibbs says all they can say at this time was that the male victim was walking along the side of the highway when he was approached and shot by another man. The shooter is said to have then ran from the scene.
The sheriff's office has not yet released the name of the victim.
The investigation continues.
