Robersonville police say they have arrested a man for an armed robbery but believe his arrest could lead to the arrests of others.
Michael Gibson, 19, of Riverbluff Rd. in Greenville is charged with multiple crimes, including armed robbery, breaking and entering, breaking and entering into a vehicle, larceny, and possession of stolen goods. His bond was set at $251,000.
Captain Phillip Lee of the Robersonville Police Department says Gibson is charged with the armed robbery of the Bojangles in Robersonville on November 12. Captain Lee says Gibson's arrest follows the collaborative effort of Robersonville police with Greenville police, Williamston police and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office. The four agencies have been working together to investigate recent armed robberies in the area.
Captain Lee says Gibson was picked up Friday on a probation violation in Greenville. However, his arrest could lead to more for other recent armed robberies in the area.
There is currently no one charged with the October 15 robbery of the Bojangles in Robersonville.
