Retired Lewiston Woodville Police Chief Passes Away

The former police chief of Lewiston Woodville has died.

Winston Panton retired in January as police chief after serving the Bertie County town for 14-1/2 years.

He passed away Tuesday morning.

The town says the 57-year-old Panton retired due to bad health after undergoing surgery.
