It's the last thing you want to happen in a blast of winter weather. But several communities faced power outages.
The town of Windsor in Bertie County was without power for more than an hour Monday night. It was restored before 8:30 p.m.
Dominion Power reported more than 1,000 people were without electric in Martin County. As of 10:45 p.m., the outage map showed power had been restored to those customers.
Earlier Monday, Dominion Power confirmed approximately 600 customers in Williamston were without electricity.
The outage was centered on South McCaskey Road, near Martin General Hospital. That outage was not weather related, as a switch has failed.
