More Assistance For Tornado Victims

Tornado victims in Bertie County that are still in need of financial help after the April 16th tornadoes can now apply for it.

Bertie County officials say they have have received donations to give to the unmet needs of tornado victims.

A local committee has been established in Bertie County who will oversee funding and its distribution.

The need must be unmet by FEMA, insurance, or any other financial resource.

To apply you can go to the Bertie County Joblink on 1001 S. King Street in Windsor.

You must go on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, 9/21/2011 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thursday, 9/22/2011 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Thursday, 9/29/2011 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

All Applicants Must Bring: FEMA control number, photo Identification
proof of Bertie County residency and documentation of Income.

If applying for medical assistance, you must bring verification of medical need (prescription, note from doctor, etc.), along with the name and phone number of the pharmacy or medical supply company.

If applying for furniture or heat/air system assistance you must bring a copy of an estimate from the company regarding the cost for the item(s).
