A Martin County mother wants answers after she says her 8-year-old daughter was threatened with a weapon on a school bus. Elisha Daniels says the other child also used a racial slur when threatening her daughter.
Daniels says it happened Friday morning while her daughter, Christija, was on her way to Jamesville Elementary School. "He put it to her throat and said, n****, I'll cut the s*** out of you," the mother told WITN News.
Martin County Schools says the student had an "inappropriate object", but Daniels says it was a shank, a sharp piece of metal with a hook and the handle wrapped in tape. The school superintendent says the other student is no longer in school but wouldn't go into specifics about the case.
Daniels is also concerned that the school never told her about what happened, even though she was at Jamesville Elementary later that same morning speaking with the principal about another bullying problem that happened on Thursday.
As for Christija, the child remains at home, saying she is afraid and wants to go to a new school.
