The Highway Patrol says both and speed and alcohol are factors in the death of a man from Everetts in Martin County.
Troopers say 30-year-old Linwood Cannon was killed on Wild Cat Rd., just one mile outside of Williamston around 4 a.m. Friday. Troopers say Cannon ran off the road twice and hit a ditch, which made his car start flipping over several times. Cannon was ejected through the sunroof, troopers say. He was not wearing his seat belt, according to the trooper.
Cannon was the only one in the car when it crashed.
