GREENVILLE (AP) - Christmas tree recycling has become easier and easier, but what about those broken lights? A Williamston job training agency is offering people a chance to recycle those as well.
The Daily Reflector of Greenville reported that Martin Enterprises has set up recycling collection sites for holiday lights at Walmart locations across eastern North Carolina.
The business development manager of Martin Enterprises says the sites will be open until the first full week of January.
Susan Daughtry says Martin Enterprises sells the burned-out lights to a company that strips away the plastic from the lights and recycles the metal wiring. This is the second year the organization has collected lights.
Collection sites are in Greenville, Elizabeth City, Kitty Hawk, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Washington and Williamston.
