Lengthy Highway Detour Comes To An End

A lengthy highway detour impacting two counties in the east has come to an end.

Highway 903 at the Pitt and Martin county line has reopened to both north and southbound drivers. The road was closed back in February so that crews could replace the bridge that connects the two counties.

The 903 bridge was just one of several small bridges in Pitt County scheduled to be replaced this year by the Department of Transportation.
