FIRST ON WITN: Identical Twins Wanted In Williamston Arrested

Both of the identical twins wanted for armed robbery in Williamston are now in custody.

Charles Houck, 39, of Jamesville and his brother Michael Houck of Plymouth. Charles Houck was arrested Sunday night after an attempted hold-up of the Shamrock Restaurant in Williamston, but Michael was on the run. That is, until 3 p..m on Tuesday. Officials at the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail say that's when Michael Houck was booked. He's being held on a $150,000 bond.

Police say the twins robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy in Williamston on Saturday night before their hold up Sunday at the Shamrock.

Lawmen say that two identical twin brothers are responsible for a drug store robbery, and attempted robbery of a restaurant. One of the men is in custody, the other on the run.

Williamston police say that 39-year-old Charles Houck of Jamesville and his brother Michael Houck of Plymouth, robbed the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Saturday night. Police say the two entered the pharmacy with a knife and demanded money, before running away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The next night, about the same time, police say the twins went into the Shamrock Restaurant with a knife and demanded money again. The two ended up running away, with employees catching up to Charles Houck, and holding him until police arrived.

Houck was charged with attempted robbery of the Shamrock, armed robbery of Rite Aid, and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. His bond was set at $100,000.

Michael Houck is still on the loose.

We're expecting to learn more today about the attempted robbery at the Shamrock Restaurant in Williamston in Martin County. Officials say one person is in custody, after people at the restaurant apprehended him.

Officials said the attempted hold up was reported around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Two men, one reportedly with a large knife, tried to rob the well-known restaurant, which is on West Blvd. in Williamston. Officials say the people in the restaurant "chased down" one of the suspects, while the man who had the knife got away.

There are no reports of injuries.

The name of the suspects have not been released. We'll bring you more details as soon as they're available.
