TRASH THEFTS: Employee Accused Of Stealing 47 Dumpsters

A trash disposal company employee is accused of stealing dozens of dumpsters and then selling them for the metal.

Roger Joyner of Robersonville is charged with 47 counts of larceny by employee and 47 counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

Pitt County deputies say the 51-year-old Joyner was an employee of Waste Industries. He is accused of stealing the dumpsters and then selling them in another county.

Deputies say Joyner worked for the company for some 15 years and right now they're still investigating how long these thefts were happening.

Joyner remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.

I'm sorry, but I have to lay a lot of blame on the business that bought them, and that business should return any they haven't destroyed. In fact, how did the guy even get caught? You'd think suspicion would be aroused by the third or fourth dumpster he tried to get cash for. Our recycling center has rules, requires I.D. with picture, and even uses an electronic fingerprint machine. Unbelievable...
