We are working to get more details on the crash that sent a child to the hospital in critical condition with a head injury.
A spokeswoman at Vidant Medical Center said she had no information on Lucas Moore early Wednesday. Moore is the nine year old injured in a car crash in Martin County Tuesday morning. The last time an update for the child was available, he was listed in critical condition.
The crash is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol says the wreck happened on Dan Peele Road near Bear Grass in Martin County around 7:30 a.m.
Trooper Brian Allen says Lee Ann Moore and son were heading east when they turned left onto Green Acres Road into the path of a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Rebecca Harrison.
The two drivers were not hurt, but Lucas Moore was unconscious at the scene. The Highway Patrol says the child suffered a broken leg and head injury.
Troopers Allen says no charges have been brought as they are awaiting to complete their investigation.
