Deputies Discover Pot, Growing Equipment In Martin County Home

A drug raid in Hamilton has netted deputies with 47 pot plants, equipment to grow pot, a gun and two suspected pot growers in jail.

Charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sale or deliver marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling to keep and store controlled substances are Wanda Green and Kenneth Howell.

Martin County deputies say Tuesday night they raided the couple's home on Highway 125 and made the discovery. Deputies say the plants have an estimated value of approximately $47,000, that's based on what each plant could produce over its lifetime.

Bonds for the two have been set at $15,000 and they have a May 19th court date.

Global Marijuana March, Saturday May 1st, 1 Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC , South Lawn from noon until 6!!! Be there!!!! http://www.myspace.com/CannabisNC Company Overview: The Global Marijuana March (GMM) is the name given to the many annual international pro-cannabis rallies and marches that take place on or around each first Saturday of May. Started by Cures-Not-Wars founder Dana Beal, what once started as a tradition in New York City has grown to over 200 participating cities world-wide. Every year, the North Carolina Cannabis Association organizes a rally and free concert for the Global Marijuana March in downtown Raleigh on or near the grounds of the North Carolina State Capitol Building. The rally is a fun and peaceful gathering through which pro-cannabis supporters from all backgrounds and political viewpoints can put aside their differences and come together to put an end to unfair and unjust cannabis laws. Much help is needed from volunteers and donors to ensure that the Raleigh Global Marijuana March continues to grow.

I'm trying to figure out why some people aren't smart enough to know that Martin County has a Sheriff's Department, not a police department. You would think that if they adopted the moniker of the "The Truth", they would be smarter....hmmm. I guess that's why sometimes you see people who are 400 pounds but call themselves "Tiny".

Why are these dumb people praising the martin county police department. all they are gonna do is put the drugs right back in the streets.....or save them for themselves...but maybe they won't save the weed for themselves.....we all know how most cops are in the MC weed isn't good enough for them...they need cocaine or crack.....just like the robersonville police(we saw what happened their)...same deal.......i don't see the big deal...all of it is gonna be legal soon anyway...so stop the theatrics....

Its not even cool how the newspaper hypes up the stories. Let me set the record straight Wanda doesn't sell drug neither does Kenny Boy. Wanda is sick she has cancer. The amount of weed they said was found is a lie yeah they found some plants but wont like some one was putting in work to grow them like for example special lighting and such.

Ok, "Guest Who This Is!!!!!", let me try to "guess" who the "Guest" is. Let me see, someone who is poorly educated, with poor language and writing skills. It is someone from Williamston, a community dominated by 'night of the living dead' type drugged out zombies who would steal the coins off of a dead man's eyes. Must be a person who appreciates a good 'high' since the "Guest Who" is defending those who provide the substances to obtain one. Well, I am stumped, you could be any one of about 10,000 government benefit recipients in Martin County. You claim Williamston as home though so I guess by eliminating the rural slums of western Martin County and narrowing it to Williamston, you could be any one of Williamston's 3 to 4 thousand recipients. Hmmmm, I am stumped, one post, thousands of recipients of government benefits.... OK, I gives up, I can't "guest" who you is.

I feel as though you can only know as much as you are told unless you seek answers. I feel as though a lot of people misjudge both criminals AND law enforcement officers. I also feel as though a lot of people in the county say a lot of things that they don't mean about others; they are simply trying to stir up drama. Yes, this is an election year and yes, things will get done in a more timely manner. As for the people of Martin County who cannot learn to respect those men and women of the law who protect you and your family each and every day, I hope that nothing bad comes your way. No, I pray for you and your family... because without men and women who are willing to put their life on the line for you, this world would be a sad place. God bless you and yours.
