Fatal Accident In Bertie County

State troopers say speed was a factor in an accident Monday that killed a Windsor man.

Davon Smallwood was driving the vehicle on Connarista Road and lost control of the car, veered to the left, struck a culvert pipe, and then overturned into a ditch.

The wreck happened south of Aulander in Bertie County.

Killed was 39-year-old Albert Cherry of Windsor. The other three people in the car, including the driver, survived the crash.

No charges have been filed yet in the accident.
