Community Holds Fundraiser For Fallen Deputy's Family

One Martin County community continues to rally around a family after the death of a sheriff's deputy.

Martin County Deputy Charlie Brown, Jr. was shot and killed in the line of duty last week. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

Friday, a BBQ plate sale will be held to benefit Brown's family. It's at the Piggly Wiggly in Williamston from 11 to 6. The BBQ plates are $5.

Charlie would be so appreciative for everyone support. He was a great guy and I know he is looking down with a big smile. He protected us all while he was here and I know in my heart he will continue to do so from above.

Thank you for doing this. A fallen LEO is one of the hardest tragedies to get through. Support this family...because they allowed him to support his community through his service.
