Vehicle Passing In No Passing Zone Leads To Accident

Several people were injured, one seriously, in an accident in Williamston, Martin County Monday night.

Highway patrol says an SUV traveling North on Prison Camp Road pulled out to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone and hit a vehicle coming in the opposite direction head on. That vehicle then crashed into a third vehicle.

Troopers say the driver of the SUV is charged with passing in a no passing zone.

I pray everyone is ok. I travel that stretch of road five days a week and pray for my safety everyday during my trip that either I do not hit a deer or someone does not make a stupid mistake. I also drive around 60 and people pass me in a hurry to ????. I would rather get to work late and alive than dead and on time to the ED.Also was wondering what time did this happen as I just so happen to be off today.

Not surprised that this happened. I have driven 60 on this road and have had cars come up to my bumper and pass, and this is a narrow curvy road.
