A grand jury has indicted a Martin County man for the murder of his wife.
District Attorney Seth Edwards says Albert Gurkin, Sr. will face an open count of murder.
The indictment means the grand jury heard sufficient evidence to believe he committed the crime.
Gurkin told authorities that his wife, Jewell, disappeared May 13th after he woke up and she was gone.
Searchers found her body, buried just a half of a mile from her home. The medical examiner says she was strangled to death.
Albert Gurkin's next court date is September 10th.
