A local volunteer firefighter who lost his legs while helping others during an accident March 2nd is out of the hospital.

Tim King went home to Bertie County from Pitt County Memorial Hospital Thursday.

It was first thought the trap volunteer firefighter would be in the hospital for six months, but he has made a remarkable recovery.

Family members say King, an ordained minister, plans to pursue a life in ministry in the future.

I am glad to see he is home where he can get some rest. The hospital isn't a place to get rest. Way to go!
