Stimulus Money For Housing In Eastern Carolina

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated $23 million to North Carolina and local agencies for housing.

Greenville is getting $1.9 million for lead hazard reduction.

Community Development Block Grants can be spent in many ways to create affordable housing. Greenville's getting a Community Development Block Grant worth $216,000. Goldsboro is getting one for $107,000. Rocky Mount is getting a Community Development Block Grant for $178,000.

Several other local housing agencies across Eastern Carolina will get funding for building public housing. Those agencies include
Ayden, Edenton, Elm City, Farmville, Goldsboro, Greenville, Hertford,
Kinston, Mount Olive, New Bern, Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Washington, Williamston and Wilson.
