Greenville Police tell WITN that the man accused of stabbing a Beaufort County woman to death in Greenville on Tuesday night is now in custody.
The arrest was made by the US Marshall Task Force, the Greenville Police Department, the FBI, and the Pitt County Sheriff's Office.
Greenville Police say 24 year old Max Albert Dorat Tejada was arrested at a residence on Ayden Golf Club Road around 3 p.m.
Greenville police have identified the man who they say killed a Beaufort County woman Tuesday night.
Police are looking for 24 year old Max Albert Dorat Tejada. Detectives say he goes by Max Alberto and that he is facing an open count of murder.
The victim, Elizabeth Hope Cutler of Washington, died this morning at Vidant Medical Center, after being stabbed multiple times at Sedge-Field Apartments on Concord Drive.
Relatives say she went by her middle name of Hope and police now confirm her age as 32.
Witnesses told police they saw a man and a woman in a dispute and as the woman began to use a cell phone, the man threw it on the pavement and then stabbed her several times.
The attacker then ran toward the railroad tracks behind the apartment.
Police say Cutler and the man were in a relationship. They believe Tejada was staying at the apartment complex. The native of El Salvador may be considered a flight risk, according to police and they are now working with other agencies to locate him.

Family and friends of the victim are holding a vigil at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the apartment complex.

Sgt. Joe Friday tells WITN an argument took place at Sedge-Field Apartments on Concord Drive between a man and a woman. Friday says the man then stabbed the woman several times in the parking lot. The incident was reported around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman, who has a Washington address, was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Police say they did recover the knife but are still searching for the suspect who lives in the apartment complex.
