UPDATE: Pitt Co. 16U Eliminated In Babe Ruth World Series

The Pitt County 16U softball team has been eliminated from the Babe Ruth World Series in Wilson.

Pitt County was in the winner's bracket before suffering back to back losses Monday. They dropped a 7-2 contest against Wilson County and a 3-0 game against Hamburg, Arkansas as they were knocked out of contention.

Pitt County defeated Creeks, Florida 9 to 0 to go 3 and 1 in pool play. Their victory secures them a spot in the quarter finals against host team Wilson County. That game set for 9am Monday.

Beaufort County's Washington team would play two games Sunday. A loss and win put them at 2 wins and 2 losses. A record that would earn them a bye in the first round of the Wilson County Cup elimination round.

In their first game Sunday, they would lose 9 runs to 2 to Hamburg, Arkansas.

They would win their second game against Colorado, 5 to 3.

Washington will play the winner of Fort White, Florida and La Junta, Colorado at 6pm Monday.
