A swim advisory has been issued for two popular beach access spots, one in Beaufort County and the other in Dare County.
The public access at the end of East Main Street in Belhaven and the one at Jockey's Ridge State Park both have high bacteria levels, according to state health officials.
The sign in Belhaven will be up for at least two weeks. In both cases, people are advised that swimming within 200 feet of the posted signs are not recommended.
