The smoky conditions are forcing some child care facilities in the east to keep kids indoors and away from the smoke.
Officials at Care O' World Enrichment Center in Washington say they received an email from the Craven County branch of Smart Start -- which is a child well being non profit. Based on that, they decided to move activities indoors.
A sign was put up reminding employees coming in that the outdoor fun has been suspended. Parents were assured everything is being taken care of.
Other care facilities say they are taking similar precautions.
