Renovated Housing Complex Re-Opens Following Hurricane Damage

Eight months after Hurricane Irene damaged or destroyed homes in the east, about two dozen people celebrated the completion of their renovated homes.

The Pamlico Courts housing complex in Aurora, Beaufort County, cut the ribbon on their newly renovated apartments Thursday. All ten units had about two feet of water inside from the hurricane.

Thursday, the families that had to move out were welcomed back and celebrated being back home.

Congratulations to those families. We had a tree to fall on our house, but, we could still live in it. Had 3 rooms damaged all fixed but one room. Still have 2 trees in the yard to get up. Hoping to be finished by the end of April.
