The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP and some neighbors are taking their concerns about a closing hospital to Greenville.
The NAACP hosted a rally and prayer vigil for Vidant Pungo Hospital.
Vidant said it is replacing the hospital with a 24-hour clinic because of the current facility's age and lack of revenue.
The NAACP argues people with emergency medical needs will likely be turned away from the new clinic and those who cannot pay will suffer.
The Monday night rally and prayer vigil started at 5 p.m. Greenville, at the corner of Memorial Drive and Stantonsburg Road, near Vidant Medical Center.
