A 29 year old man from Washington died Sunday night in a fiery crash that injured four others.
The Highway Patrol says Mario Morales died after his Jeep ran off Morning Star Rd. in Pantego just after 7 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle caught on fire after it flipped.
First. Sgt. Brandon Craft says one of the people injured was flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville; three others were taken to Vidant Pungo Hospital in Belhaven. Craft says the injured are expected to survive.
There was no indication of alcohol involved in the fatal crash, according to the Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol said one person was killed in a crash in the Beaufort County town of Pantego on Morning Star Road.
Troopers responded just after 7 Sunday night. Reports say people were trapped inside the car while it was on fire. We now know that one person died. No other injuries were reported in this single vehicle crash.
We should get more information from the Highway Patrol later this morning.
