Metropolitan Community Health To Open Facility In Williamston

Residents in Martin County in need of health care but who haven't been able to afford it will soon have a new option.

Metropolitan Community Health, a Washington based non-profit group, plans to open a new full service primary care and dental office in Williamston this fall to serve Martin County.

The group broke ground on the 17,000 square foot facility Thursday.

The health center will serve indigent populations throughout Eastern North Carolina. The mission of Metropolitan Community Health Services is to provide high quality, comprehensive, coordinated, primary health care and supportive services to the low-wealth community, and improve the health of persons and communities with effective health interventions, patient education, and chronic disease management.

There will be eight dental offices and 12 medical offices.

The clinic will be located on Godwin Road near Riverside High School.

A.R. Chesson is doing the construction and they aren't cheap. The clinic will offer health care to those who can't afford it any other way. I researched it and I was told it would not be FREE. You will have to meet the qualifications in order to receive the services. In my opinion, it will be full of free loaders that lie about their income and have 5 or 6 children by different fathers. Us honest people won't stand a chance. It isn't ebough THEY get food stamps, now they'll get medical treatment too. They drive nice, expensive cars and live in big houses. Let's face it..it's ANOTHER form of WELFARE for those living off the gov. I've been unemployed for over 2 years I wonder if I can get medical care from there ? Makes me sick to go to the store and THEY have a grocery cart full of food and I can't even buy a pack of hamburger...

If they lie about their income than that means they are working with good jobs, don't get food stamps or welfare, but just lie about their income. Because if you work in a fast food place or as a secretary or a teacher assistant you don't make enough for healthcare even if you have one child.

Noting is free people...The health center will serve indigent populations - MEANS - the working class will have to pay more taxes to pay for this - how can that be great for any community.. The doctors and dentist are not going to work for free.. The indigent populations (free loaders) are not going to pay, so GUESS WHO is... Let me help - the ones who have jobs and work for a living..
