A suspect lawmen had just taken into custody is now charged with assault on a government official after authorities say he kicked a deputy and spit in his face.
Beaufort County Deputy Zach Martin responded to Wedgewood Drive Saturday to reports of a careless and reckless driver that may be impaired. That's when he says 41-year-old Blythe Noe III walked up to his car and began yelling and cursing and threatened to kill Martin before taking off into the woods.
Martin and Highway Patrol troopers took him into custody after a short struggle. That's when they say Noe spit in Martin's face, kicked him and continued to resist. He was transported to the magistrate's office and held in the Beaufort County detention center on a $6,000.00 secured bond.
