Man Convicted Of Robbing Beaufort CVS

A Chocowinity man has been convicted of robbing the CVS Store in Beaufort last December and of trafficking in Opium after taking 350 Oxycodone pills during that robbery.

34-year-old Jeffrey Hunnings told the CVS employees that he had a gun, but did not.

He was arrested after he tried to resist Captain Joe Washington of the Beaufort Police Department while fleeing the vicinity of the crime.

Hunnings was sentenced to prison between 6 and 7 years.

He is also facing charges in Pitt County for a similar robbery.
