Road Detour For Commuters In Beaufort County

A road detour begins Friday that could affect many commuters in the east. The small bridge on N.C. 102 that connects Highway 17 to Leary-Mills Road will be replaced.

That work starts on Friday. Crews were out on Thursday doing some of the prep work. The Chocowinity-area bridge should be completed by July 3. Detour routes are already marked on the roadway.
