Fourth Of July Events And Fireworks Schedule For Eastern Carolina

There are events and fireworks planned all across Eastern Carolina for Wednesday, the Fourth of July.

9:00 pm: Atlantic Beach Circle Fireworks

The annual Atlantic Beach celebration is underway now and goes through July 9 and includes a water slide and amusement rides.


11:00 am: Parade

6:00 pm: Grounds on the east side of the Dry Stack building open with games like sack races, dodge ball, hula hoops and vendors selling hot dogs, drinks and other items.

9:00 pm: Fireworks!


9:00 am: 70th annual Belhaven Fourth of July celebration, the oldest ongoing Independence Day event in North Carolina! Parade, pageants, tractor pull, food and much more.

9:00 pm: Fireworks!

5:00 pm: W.P.T Hill Field, 2nd Marine Division "rock band" performance. Also activities and inflatables for kids.

6:00 pm: Chris Cavanaugh, country music

7:30 pm: Naturalization ceremony

8:00 pm: 2nd Marine Division band performance, followed by fireworks.

The events are free and open to the public. No pets, no alcohol, no sparklers, and no personal fireworks. Allow extra time to clear the security checkpoint. Rain date for fireworks only is July 5.


9:00 pm: Fireworks from Bogue Inlet Pier. You can also watch the fireworks show from Bogue Sound and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.


2:30 pm: Fourth of July festivities start on the Town Common. Vendors of all sorts on hand, including arts, crafts, food and beverages. Entertainment.

9:15 pm or dark: Fireworks! Sponsored by WITN, Hastings Ford and Bojangles’


7:00 to 11:00 pm: The Main Event Band performs at Jaycee Park on the waterfront.

9:00 pm: Watch from the waterfront or your boat as fireworks are launched from Sugarloaf Island across from Jaycee Park.


7:30 am: 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Go to to register or city’s website to print out registration form.

3:00 pm: Fourth of July festivities begin at Lawson Creek Park. Bounce houses, giant slide, obstacle course for kids. Beverages, food, snack vendors and misting tent to keep cool.

7:00 pm: Reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by patriotic music.

9:00 pm: Fireworks!

Bring chairs, blankets, and coolers and enjoy July 4th in Lawson Creek Park. Do not bring alcohol, glass containers, weapons, fireworks, or pets. They are prohibited. Bicyclists are asked to refrain from riding their bikes in the park.

Parking is available inside the park and at Temple Baptist Church (1500 Kingdom Way) and Dayspring Ministries (the church is located at the corner of Pollock & First but their PARKING LOT is at First & Broad streets). The City will offer shuttle service to and from Lawson Creek Park from both church parking lots. The shuttle will run approximately every half hour from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. New Bern Police Department officers will assist pedestrians with safe crossing and entrance into the park and will also assist with traffic control. Please encourage patience after the fireworks show as it could take 45 minutes or more to empty the park of traffic & pedestrians.

Boat Launch #2 (far end of the park – closest to the twin span bridge) will be CLOSED from 11 p.m. July 3rd – 11 p.m. July 4th. Boat Launch #1 (closest to Country Club Road) will remain open.


8:00 am to 8:00 pm: Flag raising, sand sculpture, arts & crafts, bouncy house, classic cars, lighthouse, bake-off, dunking booth, square dancing. Parade is at 3:00 pm.

8:00 pm to 10:00 pm: Blue Grass with the “Boone Towne” Pickers at the community square.


3:00 pm: Freedom Festival at Onslow Pines Park. Games, rides and vendor booths, live entertainment.

9:00 pm: Fireworks!


9:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Festival Park open (Daytime admissions apply.)

8:00 pm: Evening concert with the 440th Army Band. Free. Fireworks are following the concert.


6:00 pm: Downtown Swansboro, including entertainment by Carl Newton & 5th Avenue.

9:00 pm: Fireworks!


9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Patriotic kids craft program, special activities.

11:00 am: Fife and Drum Corps performance followed by a dramatic 18th-century reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Free garden admission 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. (Interior tours require paid ticket.)


3:00 pm to 5:30 pm: Patriotic-themed boat parade, corn hole tournament, hot dog eating contest.

6:00 to 8:00 pm: Joy the Clown will entertain kids.

6:00 to 9:00 pm: Spare Change performs.

9:15 pm: Fireworks! Sponsored by Lee Chevrolet/Buick and the City of Washington.

Other sponsors include Pecheles, Bud Light, On The Waterfront, Potash Corp, Coldwell Banker and Washington Daily News.


5:00 pm: Battleship North Carolina, riverfront celebration.

9:05 pm: Fireworks!
