A building fire has one Beaufort County community rallying around a couple that's been in the sewing business for more than 15 years.
Riding down Highway 33 east you'll see a sign at a Blounts Creek church asking for support for Claretha and Herman Michael.
The couple lost everything - about $30,000 worth of equipment and fabric - in an early morning house fire Tuesday.
The couple met at a sewing factory in Aurora, but when the company they worked for moved overseas, they decided to set up shop in Edward with their business is right next door to their house.
They provide services to small businesses in Lousiana and other states.
They say they're not sure what's next for them but they can't imagine doing anything else.
The only equipment they have remaining is an antique sewing machine given to them by a friend, a lot cheaper and less heavy duty than the industrial machines they had in their building.
The fire has been ruled electrical.
The Christ Vision Church in Blounts Creek is taking donations for the Michael family.
