Drug Suspect Arrested Following Beaufort County Traffic Stop

A traffic stop leads to the arrest of a suspect who had arrest warrants out for him and the discovery lawmen say of drugs in his vehicle.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says 37-year-old Mitchell St. Clair Junior of Sharon Court in Washington was pulled over after he crossed the center line while traveling on East Barr Road in Chocowinity. After identifying the driver, the deputy learned of three active order for arrests on grand jury indictments and arrested St. Clair.

A search of his vehicle turned up five plastic baggies containing marijuana in a glass jar inside of a computer case and a canister containing a white powdery substance.

St. Clair was released after posting an $8,000.00 secured bond.

Make no mistake, I do not like what Mitch, Jr. has done, but it is hard to find a job when you are an felon. Instead of dogging his father & talking about his past, why don't you go to your legislators and changed the law that would allow companies to give felons a chance to work or something. Talking about what his father did in the past has nothing to do with what his son has done. He is responsible for his actions! Instead of dogging him, make this a teachable moment for your own kids & let your senators know that the laws for felons who have served their time get a chance to start over & lead productive lives. Do you realized that this man has a mother, sisters & children that are reading these blogs? Be mindful of what you say about him & his father. Alot of you act like you have never did anything wrong or try to survive in this would by any means. This family is hurting and they need your prayers. It is not embarassing for BCCC it is embarassing for him! So stop your gossiping & call your senator & pray for my cousin please? #IJS!

I know Mitch Sr. and Mitch Jr. They both are decent people. Mitch Jr. is very intelligent and has tried very hard to get a job since his graduation from BCCC. His past mistakes are preventing him from doing that. i don't condone criminal behavior but a person has to eat and live. If no one will give you a job, what are you supposed to do? I really, really wish Mitch Sr. would give his son a job and a chance to prove himself and show how smart he is. You people out there should stop running your mouths. This could happen in your own families. Don't just assume someone is a bad person because some wrong decisions were made. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves!

Does anyone know really how his dad got his start? What you do in the past sometimes is seen in your children it is like a curse.

He was a meat cutter at Winn-Dixie and drove a school bus. He worked hard to buy and pay for his first dump truck, then he brought another truck and continued to work hardso now he has St.Clair Trucking. His son should have followed his Dad's example and not taken to a life of crime.

Nope, money's the name, thats not a fact. Get it straight. You will mess around and get sued! How dare you try to mess up his name? I am thankful that Mitch, Sr., is too classy to comment on this. GET IT RIGHT!

This has to be quite embarrasing for Beaufort County Community College (for which Mitch St. Clair Sr. serves on the Board of Trustees) to be connected to a family that is representing the college.

I don't think it is embarrassing to BCCC. I think it is embarrassing to Mitch Sr.. People are talking about him for something his 37 yesr old son did. 37!!!! Come on people at that age, the only person that is responsible is the 37 year old man.

to c-had; your point would have been well taken, had you written "you're the one who cannot spell". Until you understand the difference between your and you're, don't trouble yourself with correcting the grammar of others.

STOP SOPA! CALL CONGRESS NOW! Corporate supporters of Senate 968 (PIPA) and HR 3261 (SOPA) demand the ability to take down any web site (including craigslist, Wikipedia, or Google) that hurts their profits -- without prior judicial oversight or due process -- in the name of combating "online piracy." PIPA and SOPA authors and supporters insist they'd only go after foreign piracy sites, but Internet Engineers understand this is an attempt to impose "Big Brother" controls on our Internet, complete with DNS hijacking and censoring search results. Incredibly, many Congress Members favor this idea. Try to imagine jack-booted thugs throttling free speech, poisoning the Internet (greatest of American inventions, the very pillar of modern democracy), and devastating one of the our most successful industries. Totalitarian, anti-American, massively-job-killing nonsense. Tell Congress you OPPOSE Senate 968 "Protect IP Act" (PIPA) and H.R. 3261 "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA):
