Deputies: Two Belhaven Teens Arrested For Vandalizing Boats

Two teens from Belhaven are facing charges after deputies say they vandalized two boats.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Donald Keech, Jr, and 19-year-old William Daniels broke into two commercial fishing boats docked at a seafood company in Belhaven November 27th.

Deputies say fire extinguishers were taken, windows broken, and equipment tampered with causing one of the boats to sink.

Both teens turned themselves in this week on charges of breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny, and injury to personal property.

Those two R old enough to B responsible without blaming the parents! I think I know the parents and family of one of these boys and if it's them I KNOW they R embarrassed beyond measure. The vandalization by the two did not cause the sinking of the boat. The boat had been sunk for some time. This doesn't make it OK or less wrong, just keeping the facts straight. It's amazing too me how folks can comment on people who they don't even know and just make assumptions. Lots of young adults do stupid things. These two just got caught and WITN didn't have anything else to report that day. Believe it or not, young folks do dumb things even when they were "raised right". We do the best we can as parents, but never say what your offspring will NEVER do.

Must be tough to face the reality check Pam. Here's the reality check. Most kids that get into these kind of issues have parental problems. Your "good kids do bad things" theory is simply the exception to the norm. I promise these two had some parenting problems (divorce, lack of discipline, etc.)

Well, I'll make an assumption...as you obviously have. You must live in a perfect world. I know plenty of good parents who could've won "Parents of the Year" awards whose young adults got into trouble for making a stupid mistake. So...you cannot blame the parents. These young adults must learn from the mistake and mature. They will pay for the crime. I will not debate with you anymore, I have a job to go to. Maybe you should spend your spare time volunteering with young youths as a mentor or something. I think you should share some of that perfection to positively help influence our youth to make the right decisions.

Well I do volunteer at my chursh with shildren and I can say none of them have gone out and vandalized property and none have been arrested. Maybe this is a perfect world that I live in or more likely your definition of "Parent of the Year" is a little off. Enjoy work, I have been at it since 5 AM (since you obviously would like to imply I do not have a job.)

Now you know they are gonna get a tough punishment. They are not drug dealers or baby rapers so they get more than a slap on the wrist.

It's the other way around. You can point out that these boys are White all day long...but if they're Black, you don't say anything. If you do, other Blacks get upset or the WITN 7 Mods will delete your comment.

Your statement is just not true. I see news about all races committing crime these days; just more of some than others. I think that's what people point out.
