Deputies in Beaufort County said they arrested 22-year-old Austin Taylor earlier this month for thefts from August of this year.
Deputies said Taylor stole a John Deere brand gator, hay baler, and other pieces of farm equipment- all of which turned up later at a local recycling plant. Deputies said they traced the thefts back to Taylor, who they said stole the items from a farm on Well Road in Chocowinity.
Investigators said the equipment was returned to the original owner. Taylor is now facing three felony counts of larceny among other misdemeanor theft-related charges. His bond was set at $5,000.
