Community Mourns And Remembers Businessman, Retired Fireman

The flag at the fire department in Washington is flying at half-staff to honor a businessman and retired fireman who passed away Thursday.

G.W. Walker Jr. was 85.

He co-founded G.W. Walker & Sons with his brothers in 1946.

Walker served his community as a volunteer firefighter from the 1950s to the 1970s.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 21 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at G.W. Walker & Sons at 203 West Main Street in Washington.

The funeral will be held Sunday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Washington.
