A crash between an 18-wheeler and a car has sent one person to the hospital this morning.
The Highway Patrol says a car ran into the back of an 18-wheeler that had just pulled out of Cratches Mini Mart on Highway 264 West in Washington. That is close to Wharton Station Rd. The wreck was reported at 7:35 a.m. Monday. The truck driver, who was not injured, told troopers he had ample room to pull out, but the driver of the car did not slow enough. The highway patrol says the driver of the car was taken to Vidant Medical Center but is expected to survive the wreck.
The accident scene is now clear, so there's no impact to traffic right now.
