Beaufort County Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Bust

A Beaufort County traffic stop turned into a drug bust Friday after a deputy found marijuana in a man's vehicle near Highway 33.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says, 25-year-old Lawrence Tetterton was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana after he was stopped for speeding.

A deputy patrolling the Edward community says he saw suspicious activity in a convenience store parking lot on Highway 33, followed Tetterton's vehicle and pulled him over.

The deputy says he found 20 baggies of marijuana and four hydrocodone pills. He was held on a $6,000 bond but has been released.

Agreeing with C-Had. There is much corruption there and I know about the captain as well as well as his solders. How they sleep at night is beyond me.

LOL, yeah right leave a job for less money. Not this day and time. If they can't do the job they need to leave. Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split ya.

But notice how the simpliest, basic, everyday law enforcement leads to results...I have been saying for years that IF Williamston PD would enforce some simple, everyday, non-glamourous laws they would be in close contact with many of the low-lifes that are making this town a miserable nightmare. If the guys would enforce the speeding laws, the window-tint laws, and the littering laws, they would have access and probable cause to take on the same individuals that are committing more serious crimes too. Our guys act like if it's not murder, rape, or something extremely serious, they have no time for it. It starts with the basics, first. Beaufort County LEO's do not tolerate the same hoopla that goes on here everyday seemingly unnoticed.

This is news? This happens every hour on the hour in eastern NC. Sounds like another shot by the BCSO to undermine WPD and take over for more power.

Although I dont personally work for Sheriff Jordan , whether or not you like him or not , his department is one of the most professional in all of Eastern NC. Its hard to dispute the facts of how many arrests that his department makes on a monthly basis.

It's because the BCSO puts everything they do on the news. This is not news every dept. does this every day. Got to keep the outward appearance up for the voters who don't really know Alan Jordan. People do some research before you cast your vote next election. How many deputies at the BCSO have more than three years experience in law enforcement. All four road Sergeants have less than five years in law enforcement, some less than three. The deputies come and go on a routine basis. The turnover rate is extremely too high, makes you wonder why they are leaving. A member of the administration left there after 20 yrs for a lower paying job, hmmmmm.

It may appear professional on the outside but if you knew some of their allstars you wouldnt say that. One of the captains in particluar is more crooked than many drug dealers I know.At least they live their principles and are not hypocrites busting folks for the same things they do.Mr Jordan refuses to deal with this situation,Im guessing because it would tarnish his "professional image" or it might turn over too many drug busts in B.C.The dude has a G-d complex and has absolutely no reason to think so highly of himself.

Dont get me started. There is a difference in running a department and earning respect versus inflicting fear. Arrests? I know folks right now who need to be arrested and are walking the streets in Beaufort county. Pleeeeez.

If you would read the article, the arrest was made near 33. So please tell me how that would be trying to undermine the WPD? However if the WPD is neglecting drug activity someone has to do the job. It really doesn't matter to me as long as the drugs are off the street. The last time I checked marijuana is illegal is it not?

For him being busted in Edward, I'm surprised that's all they found on him!

Lavon would claim he was wrongly profiled by the police.
