An arsonist and sex offender is behind bars, after pleading guilty to the crimes against him. The Beaufort County man is also a former police officer and deputy.
Records show Todd Jarvis, of Bath, is in the Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro. The Washington Daily News says he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to between 29 and 36 months in prison.
Jarvis was accused of six arsons in Beaufort County and one in Washington County earlier this year, along with the sex crime against a child.
Jarvis was fired from the Kinston Police Department, and also worked as a sheriff's deputy in Greene County.
