Anniversary Of Teen Texting Death

A tragic anniversary, a year ago today, a high school senior from Beaufort county was killed in a crash while texting behind the wheel.

Sarah Edwards of Chocowinity was just 18-years-old when she died. She took her eyes off the road just to read a text and slammed into a log truck.

Her family is planning to honor her memory today with a ceremony at her grave, while they continue to spread the word about not texting and driving.

I AGREE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A LAW NO TALKING ON CELL PHONES AND THEN THERE SHOULD BE A FINE IF CAUGHT. MOST STATES HAVE THAT LAW ALREADY. MAKE IT LAW NORTH CAROLINA. I SEE OUT OF EVERY 5 PEOPLE 3 ARE ON CELL PHONES JUST SAILING IN THEIR CARS

It's not the cell phones that cause the accidents; it's irresponsible drivers. I'm not going to give up my phone because of the inepitude of others.

Laws are made because the actions of a few, hurt themselves and others. There are laws on the books that already prohibit use of cell phone while driving be it talking or texting. The problem is with the enforcement of the law. My vote is for a law that prohibits the ability of the phone to recieve service while in movement on public highways.

Cell phones kill people so stop thinking you can have a conversation with a cell phone to your head or text while driving.....the person in front of me today was weaving in and out of the lines because they had a cell phone plastered to their head....PAY ATTENTION....OUTLAW CELL PHONES AND SAVE A LIFE
