The American Red Cross and Lowe's will host a Touch-a-Truck and Preparedness event. It's on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Lowe's Home Improvement parking lot in Washington.
After the recent storms and tornadoes, the Red Cross and its volunteers have been helping the victims overcome the damages to their homes. The Red Cross has provided food, clothing, clean up materials, home structure support, and man power to anyone in need of assistance.
The money raised during the Touch-a-Truck Fundraiser will go to the Eastern North Carolina disaster teams to help keep trucks, resources and volunteers in the hands of those in need.
Over 20 vehicles and the Vidant Health Helicopter will be on location for kids and adults to explore, touch and learn about. There will also be free information on hurricane safety, fire prevention and disaster preparedness.
VIP tickets are available for pre-purchase and allow early entrance to the event. VIP holders will be able to explore the vehicles and helicopter starting at 9 a.m.
Tickets are available for pre-purchase, will-call, day of, and group discounts. Tickets can be purchased the Red Cross location in Greenville (312 E. 10th St.) or Washington (135 N. Market St.) or can be ordered for will-call by calling (252) 355-3800.
