I also agree with Kathy. I have an will continue giving my money and support to causes like this instead of giving doantions to people who drive to the soup kitchen in Cadillac Escalades( that my tax money paid for)! Someone has to help the cancer patients because too many cancer-free people are unemployed and sucking money away from the state that could be helping pay for cancer treatments. How awful to live in a place where cancer patients have to work and perfectly healthy people walk the streets and recieve free healthcare. Just wait until 4 more years and pray people for a system change starting with the local and state officials first. God bless the right and the people who are really sick or handicapped and pray for the wrong as they know who they are just like we do.

Just want to say thanks to all of you who participate in Relay or donate to the American Cancer Society. My sister had stage IV breast cancer. The reason she's still alive is because of the advances that have been made in fighting this deadly disease. I'll be at the Relay this weekend in Jacksonville.

Seriously - I thought WITN's home was Greenville. Morning show, spot dedicated for new studio, official station of ECU pirates, continuous coverage of Pitt county events. Am I wrong? To look at the studio in Chocowinity it looks as if it has been shut down for years. BTW - congrats BC Relay For Life.

OK Lets do the math here.Hundreds of thousands of dollars for just one little area of the whole United states. Now multiply that times oh how many counties do you think are in the US? lets just say one million. So now you have hundreds of thousands times one million and thats just for one time. We can go to the moon, find cures for aids and much more, build computors, ipods, planesetc

I Love how people take something like Relay for Life and turn it into bashing it (Hertford Relay) This was my first time going to Relay for life, my niece was with "Kids for a cure" and i must say it was so beautiful It brought me to tears to see some of these people during the little parade at the beginning. I am so glad that this caused raised so much money for something so great! THANKS TO EVERYONE and Great Job on putting something so Great together!!!

Anyone know what percentage of the funds collected goes to cover administrative cost?

The hard work of the Hertford Relay teams is definatly most appreciated but please don't use this forum to bash WITN, this article is about the money Beaufort County raised. WITN's home station is in Beaufort County.
