Driver In Triple Fatal Wreck Gets Second Court Delay

The man authorities say was behind the wheel in a wreck that killed three people in Beaufort County got another continuance in court Thursday.

Harry Moore Junior is facing misdemeanor death by motor vehicle charges in the December 28 crash on Cherry Run Road in Washington.

Troopers say Moore was driving 90 miles per hour when he lost control, and the mustang ran off into Cherry Branch Creek. Angela Carter, Rakima McCall and Earl Windley died. Daniel Avery was seriously hurt but survived.

A court clerk said the case has been continued until April 15th. Moore's case had already been delayed once before.

Give me a break. Yes, most of you don't know the full story! Not a week before this wreck where he killed 3 people he was driving down a private gravel road and took out a mail box and pump house, because he was under the influence of something. I know first hand I was there! He shouldn't have a license or access to a vehicle and should do time for what he did. Accidents are one thing but just plain being stupid and showing off should be punished. That curve is plainly marked and there was no excuse for going 90 mph at that location.

Let me correct my thought on the NC Justice system it does need modifcations but we have to look to our law makers in Raleigh to do that but I don't have any faith in them either.

To M in regards to the 16 yr old in Wilson, I don't think he was under the influence nor had a drug past. Some things do happen. Is 16 the age for permit only driving in NC, I am so old I have not even thought about it, my daughter was 18 when she was licensed so was my nephrew. I still don't know the answer to why all these young people where with him on that day instead of at a job. Alot in this world makes no sense to me, all I can do is pray and make sure my family is as safe as possible. NC Justice system does not modifications but may not see it in my life time.

To those of you who are bashing the driver and don't know him as a person cannot judge him. Only GOD can judge and your stupid comments are only worthless opionions. God has a time line for every life on this earth. I feel sorry for both famalies and the whole situation is sad. God is in control of all our lives and if this is his way of giving him a wake up call and had to use his angels to do so then so be it. You never question GOD. I know he didn't mean to kill those kids, but that's what happened and the he has to leave with that for the rest of his life. That's the worst punishment. Think about there's a reason why GOD kept him alive. So you can continue to be mad or whatever either way the situation remains the same. GOD will do what's best it's not up to man to decide. I will continue to pray for BOTH famalies.

Its easy to judge this man. All you who are not involved sitting behind your computers. Easy for you to judge. I can only imagine how awful this must be for him. To all of you who have never sped or been aggressive on the road (because your saints) the rest of us have seen your stones you have thrown at him. This man does look sad and remorseful. Who would not be. Im sorry for the family. It should not have happened but this man feels JUST LIKE YOU WOULD IF IT HAPPENED TO YOU SAINTS OF THE ROADWAYS.

Again!!people my hearts go out to the family of those lost, however Harry did not intend to kill anyone! No one does, yes he showed off and yes it was stupid. But please trust he is feeling what he did. Yall saying he shows no remorse they took him straight from the hospital he wearing a gown. I believe he is truly sorry and wish he could take back that fatal day but I truly hope that the family involve can move on as hard as it is, and let justice do what God has already done to him.

This is a perfect example of the screwed up court system. I don't believe they are waiting for a blood alcohol test result. The reasons that cases usually get continued include: Waiting for blood test results from the State Lab; Too many cases on the docket to reach it and waiting for the attorney to get paid. Can anyone tell why a case should be continued because the attorney hasn't been paid. "Too many cases" on a dockey could be cleared up by not continuing a case more that one time. The waiting on a blood test result could be sped up if the state would be tough on DWI offenders which would hopefully make it so people are scared to drive drunk and the SBI would have less blood tests to do. If the attorney doesn't get paid...then "he" can take the "innocent" person that they sooooo gladly defend to court and sue them for the money.
