Beaufort County Affected By Weather

More accident calls poured into the highway patrol in Beaufort County, after slick roads attributed to several crashes.

The State Highway Patrol received reports of multiple accidents on Cherry Run Road near Washington Wednesday.

The van hit a patch of ice, ran off the road and overturned. The driver was ok.

The Highway Patrol says the driver was going too fast for the conditions.

Another accident happened in the same way when a suburban hit a patch of ice and slid off the road into a light pole.

Department of Transportation says they cleared roads Wednesday morning and through the afternoon.

All the primary and secondary roads are clear, but the concern is for what will happen overnight.

The Department of Transportation advises people be careful since black ice can form on the bridges, causing more problems for drivers.
